The Course

Plus Training Direct Tracheostomy Course  is designed to train and provides you with the knowledge and skills required to care for patients in their private homes or hospitals who have a tracheostomy and require ventilation.

This course is suitable for nurses, experienced health care assistants / support workers and any other health or social care staff working with people with complex care needs in a community setting.

Learners on the course will be taken through practical demonstrations and there will be plenty of opportunity take notes ,ask questions and practice this skills.

The course will ensure staff have sufficient knowledge to work with an individual with a tracheostomy safely and effectively.

Who Is Recommended for ? 

Tracheostomy Training  is ideal for: community nurses, experienced health care assistants / support workers and any other health or social care staff working with adults with complex care needs in a community setting.

The course is also ideal for use as part of the on-programme element of the new apprenticeship standards and can support the knowledge, skills and behaviours apprentices need to effectively integrate into the workplace.

Health care assistants and support workers must all have at least 6 months care experience.
