The Course
Plus Training Direct Phlebotomy Training is designed to train and provides you with the knowledge and skills required to take blood samples from patients.
This course is suitable for nurses, experienced health care assistants / support workers and any other healthcare professional or social care staffing working with people with complex care needs in a community setting.
Learners on the course will be taken through practical demonstrations using ultra-modern simulation equipment and there will be plenty of opportunity to take notes ,ask questions and practice this skills.
The course will ensure staff have sufficient knowledge to drown blood safely and effectively from any patient.

Who Is Recommended for ?
Phlebotomy Training is ideal for: community nurses, experienced health care assistants / support workers and any other healthcare processionals or social care staff working in care sector in a community setting.
The course is also ideal for use as part of the on-programme element of the new apprenticeship standards and can support the knowledge, skills and behaviours apprentices need to effectively integrate into the workplace.

This program prepares learners to collect blood specimens from clients for the purpose of laboratory analysis. Learners will become familiar with all aspects of blood collection and will review the skills needed to perform venepunctures safely. Topics in this course include medical terminology, related anatomy and physiology, blood collection procedures, and procedures for collection of other types of specimens within the scope of practice of the phlebotomist.
